Dean’s Student Leadership Award
Julia Koltuniuk received the Dean’s Student Leadership Award, intended for students who model extensive leadership beyond a single department or student organization while demonstrating this leadership in a significant university, community, or professional organization.
Koltuniuk obtained degrees in marketing, entrepreneurship, and the professional sales certificate. Her leadership has been demonstrated in multiple ways.
She served as the Mu Psi Delta Sigma Pi president. Due to her leadership, direction, and dedication, the Mu Psi chapter has seen its largest growth. She helped reinvigorate our professional business fraternity. She was able to focus Mu Psi on professional development and fulfilling the Delta Sigma Pi mission, which has subsided a bit post-pandemic. Under her leadership, our chapter was awarded the national winner for the most improved collegiate chapter. She also led one of our largest groups to attend the Delta Sigma Pi LEAD Summit in Des Moines. Without her leadership, the Mu Psi chapter wouldn’t be as strong as it is today.
Other leadership roles within the college include serving on the Ivy Student Council and being a BUSAD 1020 peer mentor. She has also completed the Gerdin Leaders Academy.
Koltuniuk’s leadership experiences at Iowa State University include: Cardinal Key Honor Society, Kappa Kappa Gamma (vice president of finance, public relations assistant, Homecoming/Greek Week Gen-Co), Office of Admissions Student Tele-counselor, the Iowa State Blood Drive, Order of Omega Honor Society, Gamma Sigma Alpha Honor Society, Sigma Nu Tau Honor Society.
Dean’s Student Inspiration Award
Andrew Wilson received the Dean’s Student Inspiration Award, which recognizes seniors who have been an inspiration to members of the college or the community. This remarkable student inspires others through academics, community involvement, and overcoming obstacles.
Wilson obtained a degree in management, a professional sales certificate, and a leadership studies certificate. He has been a pillar of inspiration during his time at Ivy. Through his vast involvement in various extracurriculars, he has touched many lives and continues to inspire every day.
Wilson’s activities include: Delta Sigma Pi, Destination Iowa State, lead peer mentor, Men’s Volleyball Club, Recreation Services Advisory Board, Recreation Services intermural supervisor, Sales Club, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon national fraternity.
His willingness to share his candid experiences resonated with young students and gave them the encouragement they needed to keep their heads up. One of the best stories he has shared is being rejected time and time again from the Men’s Volleyball Club team. He worked harder and made it during his senior year.
Wilson has always been focused on understanding the why and the purpose of doing things. Helping mentees and mentors alike, he is able to connect with people on a deeper level by connecting the dots. His passion for a bigger purpose is a radiating force that spreads to everyone he connects with.
We would also like to recognize all of the Ivy students who were nominated for these awards.
