If you’re aiming for roles in investment banking or along other prestigious finance pathways, this is the place to start.
Tyler Claiborne welcomes new applicantsEach year, 10 high-achieving students are selected as Ivy Scholars based on academic success, leadership, drive, and communication skills. As an Ivy Scholar, you’ll join a close-knit, high-performing group and gain access to:

  • Mentorship and networking with alumni in top firms.
  • Support to land the best internships and full-time roles.

What makes the Ivy Investment Banking Initiative unique?

    Technical training

    You’ll receive technical training, including access to specialized curriculum, exclusive speaker series, and alumni events. This program also provides mock interviews with students who have investment banking division experience, and access to an industry mentor during your summer internship.

    Scholarships

    Once accepted into the program, you’ll receive $1,500 total scholarship ($750 scholarship in sophomore year, followed by two $375 scholarships junior year, contingent on continued participation).

     

  • Networking-opportunity-guest-speaker-event

    Mentorship and networking

    You’ll have access to alumni with investment banking division experience who are connected to the program. You’ll experience an annual networking trip at no cost. You’ll have access to an experienced program director who facilitates connections between Ivy Scholars and industry experts.

     

As a high school senior, you’ll feel confident knowing you can enter the Freshman Introductory Program as soon as you start at Ivy. This program aims to kickstart your finance journey from day one on campus, and serves as a high-priority pipeline in to the Initiative. Most colleges make you wait until you are a sophomore.

Meet your director

David Spalding, Ivy College of Business dean from 2013-2025, is the program director. Before joining Iowa State, he served for eight years at Dartmouth College, New Hampshire, most recently as senior vice president and senior advisor to Dartmouth’s president. Before entering higher education, Spalding had a 29-year career in finance in New York, New York.

Alumni Advisory Council

The Alumni Advisory Council provides advice and mentorship opportunities for students, helps shape the curriculum for the program, and provides insight regarding industry trends.
