General Business Minor Requirements 2026

The Ivy College of Business offers a structured minor in general business to students outside the college.

The General Business Minor requires a total of 15 credits.
- The minor must include at least 6 credits in courses numbered 3000-level or above.
- A “C” average (2.00) or better is required in courses used to satisfy the minor requirements.
- Three of the 15 credits for the minor may not be used to satisfy any other department, college, or university requirement.
- All prerequisites for minor courses must be met prior to taking the course.
- All minor courses must be taken for a grade.

Required course (3 credits)

ACCT 2840 Financial Accounting

Select one of the following (3 credits)

ACCT 2150 Legal Environment of Business (sophomore classification).
ACCT 2850 Managerial Accounting (prerequisite: ACCT 2840).

Elective courses (9 credits)

Select three of the following:

ENTSP 3100 Entrepreneurship and Innovation (sophomore classification).
FIN 3010 Principles of Finance (prerequisites: ACCT 2840, ECON 1010).
MGMT 3700 Managing Organizations (sophomore classification).
MIS 3010 Management Information Systems (prerequisite: COM S 1130, or approved substitute).
MKT 3400 Principles of Marketing (prerequisite: credit or enrollment in ECON 1010).
SCM 3010 Supply Chain Management (prerequisite: ECON 1010).
