Undergraduate Minors Requirements 2026

Students with a primary major in the Ivy College of Business may choose a minor in one of the college’s departments by taking at least 15 credit hours in the minor, 3 credits of which may not be used to satisfy any other department, college, or university requirement.

*The Business and Technology (BTC) and the Entrepreneurship (ENTSP) minors are open to all majors, including those outside the Ivy College of Business.

ACCT 2840 Financial Accounting.
ACCT 2850 Managerial Accounting.
ACCT 3010 The Accounting Cycle (1 credit).
Select three additional courses from other 3000-4000 level Accounting (ACCT) courses (excluding ACCT 4160).

MIS 2070 Fundamentals of Programming for Business and Analytics.
MIS 3200 Database Management Systems or ACCT 3840 Accounting Information Systems and Analytics.
MIS 4360 Introduction to Business Analytics.
Select two additional courses from list of approved Business Analytics (BUAN) courses found in the Iowa State University Catalog.

MKT/MIS 3670 Consultative Problem Solving.
MIS 3100 Information Systems Analysis or MKT 3420 Foundation of Personal Selling.
MKT 4950 Live Cases in Marketing or MIS 4950 Executive Presentation and Analysis or SCM 4950 Executive Analysis and Presentations.
