Yonghong Jia joined Iowa State University’s accounting faculty as an assistant professor this fall. She joins us from Governors State University. Jia has a PhD in business administration and MS in accounting from Wayne State Universtiy. She also has an MS in computer science from the HuaZhong University of Science and Technology and a BS in computer science from Harbin Institute of Technology, China. Jia currently is teaching the accounting information systems course. Her research interests include the economic consequences of accounting information and internal control disclosures.
Faculty members Jon Perkins and Qian Wang were promoted to associate professor with tenure this summer. Perkins has a PhD from the University of Illinois. He teaches tax and the recently-launched accounting capstone course. His research focuses on sustainability disclosure. Wang has a PhD from the University of Kansas. She teaches intermediate financial accounting and does research on financial accounting and auditing disclosure issues.
