Ames, Iowa —RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market, is pleased to announce a $250,000 gift from the RSM US Foundation to the Iowa State University College of Business to endow the RSM Fellowship in Accounting.

“We are extremely grateful to RSM for supporting our accounting department,” said Raisbeck Endowed Dean David Spalding. “This gift will allow the college to create an endowed faculty position to support the department of accounting. This type of funding is critical for us to have high quality, internationally-recognized faculty so our students learn from the best.”

RSM leaders announced the gift September 28 during a visit to the College of Business.

“The gift is made possible through contributions from RSM partners, principals and employees who are Iowa State alumni, as well as the RSM US Foundation,” said Iowa State alumnus Kevin Prien (’84 accounting), regional managing partner for RSM’s Central Region. “As the university that educates more Iowans than anyone else, Iowa State has become a core campus for us to discover talent that is committed to being part of the largest firm in the world committed to serving the middle market. We continue to find motivated, intelligent, caring students who share our values and our commitment to our clients, our people and our communities.”

“Stewardship is a cornerstone upon which RSM was built,” said Doug Opheim, chief financial officer with RSM US LLP, and chairman of the board for the RSM US Foundation. “It is our privilege to support Iowa State with this gift. It’s one of the ways the RSM US Foundation and RSM people support the communities where we all live and work, while contributing to the development of tomorrow’s middle market business leaders.”
