Land O’Lakes President and CEO Beth Ford (’86 management) delivered inspiring remarks on leadership to a full house at the Debbie and Jerry Ivy College of Business on Friday, November 9. Over 300 students, faculty, and staff turned out to hear Beth’s talk, “Leadership is a Team Sport,” in the Richard and Joan Stark Lecture Hall in the Gerdin Business Building.
Named to Fortune magazine’s 2018 Most Powerful Women in Business List, Beth is the first female CEO of Land O’Lakes, one of the nation’s largest food and agricultural cooperatives, and the first openly gay woman to lead a Fortune 500 company. Her lecture was part of the Ivy CEO Speaker Series and was co-sponsored by the Collegiate Women in Business student organization.
“It’s been exciting to watch Beth’s career grow and we are proud that she is our alumna,” said Raisbeck Endowed Dean David Spalding. “Beth has remained connected to the Ivy College of Business and has always been a loyal Cyclone.”
While on campus, Beth also participated in a medallion ceremony to recognize Yoshi Suzuki, the inaugural recipient of the Land O’Lakes Inc. Endowed Professorship in Supply Chain Management. Suzuki is the interim chair of the Department of Supply Chain and Information Systems in the Ivy College of Business.
