More than 600 business professionals attended the Business Record’s 2019 Book of Lists unveiling party January 3, at Capital Square in downtown Des Moines. Published annually in January, the Book of Lists is an essential resource guide for business professionals in central Iowa.
For the fourth year in a row, the Ivy College of Business was the presenting sponsor. The college is proud to partner with the Business Record for this annual celebration that brings together CEOs, business and community leaders, and Iowa State alumni and friends.
Chris Conetzkey, publisher of the Business Record, announced the top five most influential boards and business leaders, as voted on by Business Record readers. The Greater Des Moines Partnership Board of Directors was voted the Most Influential Board, and Principal Financial Group President and CEO, Dan Houston (’84 marketing), was named the Most Influential Business Leader. Houston has served on the Ivy College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council since 2004.
This continues a winning streak for Ivy alumni as Houston succeeds another Ivy grad and former Bankers Trust CEO, Suku Radia (’74 accounting), who held the title for six consecutive years. Radia retired from Bankers Trust in 2017, and now serves as executive-in-residence for the new Ivy College of Business executive MBA program.
