The Ames Tribunes reported on the continuing progress of the Gerdin Business Building expansion.
According to Danny Johnson, director of facilities, they finished the earth retention work this week and are in the process of finishing the underground plumbing and water drainage system. Next week, starting April 29, they will begin pouring concrete for the footings.
“The next steps will be to complete putting in all of the footings and the concrete walls for the foundation of the building,” he said. “Then, when all of that is completed, they will start going up with the building.”
Starting May 13, Wallace Road will be closed for continued work on the expansion and will remain closed for the duration of the project. Wallace Road will be closed from Union Drive to the entrance to the upper part of the East Campus Parking deck. The south entrance to Farm House Lane will also be closed.
