The Ivy College of Business wrapped up another successful Business Week, with events ranging from industry speakers to yoga on central campus. The annual celebration kicked off on September 16 with a Business Week t-shirt handout, sponsored by Grinnell Mutual, and a free barbeque lunch on central campus. Here are a few highlights from the week’s events:
- Sukup Manufacturing’s Rachel Geilenfeld (’07, political science) shared her tips for success with fine dining, networking, and social media during the Put Your Best Fork Forward – Business Week Netiquette Dinner, sponsored by Principal.
- The Ivy community, along with volunteers from event sponsor Deloitte, packaged 20,088 meals for hungry people around the world during a service project with Meals from the Heartland.
- Lennox brightened our Thursday afternoon with 500 Thelma’s Ice Cream Sandwiches and other frozen treats.
- Business Career Services delivered more than 30 professional development sessions in partnership with employers as part of the Business Week Speaker Series, sponsored by Land O’Lakes, 3M, and RSM.
Additional events were sponsored by Union Pacific and John Deere.
The purpose of Business Week is to celebrate and promote the college through professional development opportunities, corporate engagement, philanthropic efforts, and student appreciation in both a professional and social manner. Business Week is held each year just before the fall Business, Industry and Technology Career Fair at Hilton Coliseum.
