More than 700 business professionals filled the Atrium at Capital Square for the Business Record’s Book of Lists unveiling event January 9 in downtown Des Moines. Published annually in January, the Book of Lists is an essential resource guide for business professionals in central Iowa.
For the fifth year in a row, the Ivy College of Business was the presenting sponsor for the Book of Lists unveiling event. The college is proud to partner with the Business Record for this annual celebration that brings together CEOs, business and community leaders, and Iowa State alumni and friends.
Chris Conetzkey, publisher of the Business Record, announced the top five most influential boards and business leaders, as voted on by Business Record readers. Principal Financial Group chairman, president, and CEO Dan Houston (’84, marketing) was voted the Most Influential Business Leader for the second year in a row, while the Greater Des Moines Partnership Board of Directors was voted the Most Influential Board.
Houston, who was recently inducted into the Iowa Business Hall of Fame, has served on the Ivy College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council since 2004.
