What We Do
Since the Communications Center’s inception in 2005, the center has grown to serve the communication needs of faculty, staff, and students. We offer a variety of services specially designed to facilitate stronger communication skills and a more confident process of creating written, oral, visual, and electronic communication.
Communications Center’s Beginnings
How did the Communications Center begin at the Ivy College of Business?
The center was developed in the Ivy College of Business in response to the ISU Comm Initiative, which is a campus-wide effort to enhance students’ communication skills throughout their entire academic career. As the work with students grew, so did a collaboration with faculty as the Communications Center served to help faculty develop communication-focused assignments that would help business students enhance their professional speaking and writing skills.

Who does the center serve?
The Communications Center in the Ivy College of Business was created to serve both the college’s faculty and students. Since 2005, the Center has seen dramatic growth in the number of faculty and students served, both in and out of the classroom.
