Bio
Dr. Guo's research focuses on (i) the role of accounting information and non-financial performance in corporate governance (incl. CEO compensation and shareholder activism), and (ii) firms' responses to federal government regulations.
Before joining Iowa State University in 2025, he was an assistant professor at the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University. He earned his PhD at Boston University, his MBA at the University of Virginia, and his bachelor's degree at Tsinghua University. Prior to joining academia, Michael worked for 7 years in financial services in both the private and public sectors. He is a licensed CPA.
