Scholarship opportunities

  • Reach new heights with Ivy

Ivy College of Business offers a variety of scholarships to support high-achieving candidates in our master’s programs. We’re committed to empowering the next generation of leaders and innovators.

If you have a record of academic success, then you may qualify for scholarship opportunities. For most scholarships, graduate students are automatically considered for qualifying scholarships with their admission into an Ivy College of Business graduate program.

Scholarship awards are typically distributed evenly over several semesters, depending on the length of your program. Recipients will be notified of their award in their admission letter or a separate scholarship award letter from the Ivy Graduate Programs Office.

    • To maintain eligibility for the full award amount, recipients must remain in good academic standing throughout their program.
    • Late applications may be considered if funding remains available.
    • Most scholarships are not renewable.
    • Most scholarships are recruitment awards.

    How to apply

Scholarships are typically awarded based on a student’s application materials and do not require an additional application. Being an admitted student ensures that you will be considered for all Ivy College of Business scholarships for which you are eligible. See below for a list of scholarships that require an application.

For those scholarships requiring an application, students must complete an application to your preferred graduate program and fill out the Part B form. Any scholarships requiring an application or additional materials are noted below.

    Thank you to our donors

Employment opportunities

  • Graduate assistantships

Graduate assistantships are offered to highly qualified candidates admitted into Iowa State University, as full-time graduate students in master’s degree programs. Assistantships provide students unique opportunities to work directly with business faculty actively engaged in leading-edge research in their respective fields. Most assistantships are administrative and are quarter-time (10 hours/week) for a total of 170 hours. In each academic year, we award 30-35 graduate assistantships that help support our academic departments. Graduate assistantships are only awarded to students in full-time Ivy graduate programs.

Graduate assistants receive the following benefits:

    • Semi-monthly stipend.
    • C-based tuition, which is equivalent to resident tuition.
    • Tuition scholarship equivalent to 37.5 percent tuition on the C-based tuition (for 10 hours/week).
    • Reduction in student fees.
    • Health insurance coverage for the duration of the appointment.

For new students to be considered for a graduate assistantship, check “yes” on the application form where it asks, “Do you want to be considered for an assistantship?” Assistantships are awarded based on GPA, GMAT scores, work experience, and other notable achievements.

For current students to apply, fill out the Ivy College of Business Graduate Assistantship Application. The application requires that you upload a current resume and cover letter. Positions are highly competitive and reviewed each semester.

For more information about graduate assistantships, please refer to the Graduate College website.

    Additional employment opportunities

You can seek out other employment opportunities across campus. Check out CyHire for other department assistantship positions and hourly, on-campus employment.

The Ivy College of Business occasionally hires graduate students for hourly positions. The need for these positions changes each semester. To apply for an hourly position, please fill out the Ivy College of Business Hourly Position Application.
