We are ranked #30 in the U.S. based on the number of faculty’s publications in the top information systems journals: MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, and Journal of the Association for Information Systems, 2020-2022

The doctoral specialization in Information Systems and Business Analytics (ISBA) is designed to develop future scholars to excel in basic and applied research in the field of information systems and business analytics.

As an ISBA doctoral student, you will undergo rigorous training in advanced research methodologies and acquire in-depth, discipline-specific knowledge. Faculty advisors will guide you as you conduct leading-edge research addressing technical, economic, managerial, and organizational issues concerning the creation and utilization of information systems and technologies in organizations and society.

This program is a full-time, residential program, which focuses on preparing students for academic positions in institutions where research, teaching, and service are valued and rewarded. In addition, you will also get opportunities to teach undergraduate students so you can become an effective instructor upon graduation.

The faculty in the ISBA program have a strong national and international reputation. They have excellent publication records, hold editorial positions in major journals, and are experienced in mentoring doctoral students. The ISBA faculty research interests are broad, covering technical, economic, organizational, and behavioral aspects of information systems. The program maintains a low student-to-faculty ratio, allowing close collaboration and interaction with faculty and strong mentoring of students. We encourage you to take advantage of the faculty resources and become active researchers as early as possible.
