Graduate Career Services
Our Graduate Business Career Services staff works closely with students, employers, and alumni to foster positive and productive recruiting relationships.
We offer two major areas of service:
- Comprehensive career management services for alumni and graduate business students enrolled in the MBA and the specialized master’s degree programs
- Partnership with hiring managers and employment recruiters to facilitate recruitment and hiring of our outstanding graduates and internship candidates
Through training workshops and one-on-one counseling sessions, our experienced staff will work with you to create and execute a search strategy, craft your resume and cover letters, prepare for career fairs and job interviews, improve your networking skills, and successfully negotiate offers.
Students
We offer several career-management tools to prepare you to look for and land your next position, including:
- CyHire – check out Iowa State University’s online career management system that connects you to recruiters and job opportunities at Iowa State
- Career Fairs – connect with nearly 200 employers at the Iowa State University Business, Industry, and Technology Career Fair held every fall and spring semester in Hilton Coliseum
- Big Interview – get information and guides, mock interviews, and feedback on your interview performance
- CareerShift – this online job search tool will help you locate jobs, research companies, and network with professionals in your chosen field
- CareerLeader – following a business career self-assessment, CareerLeader provides a robust analysis of you interests, skills, and motivators, and matches them to a specific career path
- GoinGlobal – find country-specific employer information to help you with your job search. Drill down even farther with city-focused employment guides for destinations in the United States and around the world.
Employers
Ivy Graduate Business Career Services provides a link between you — the prospective employer— and the Ivy College of Business MBA, master of finance (MFIN), master of information systems (MIS), master of accounting (MACC), and other business graduate students.

Campus interviews, job postings, and resume referrals
Campus interviews and job postings are managed via our comprehensive Iowa State University career management services web-delivery system, CyHire. This university-wide collaborative system allows you to manage your multiple recruiting priorities with ease. With this arrangement, it is possible for you to interview MBA, MFIN, MFIN, MACC, and other graduate business students as well as undergraduate business students and students from other colleges at Iowa State on one interview trip.
Career fairs
Plan to attend our next career fair (events are held every fall and spring semester) to increase your visibility and speed up recruitment of Iowa State MBA, MFIN, MIS, MACC, and other graduate business students.
Experienced hires
Alumni of our graduate programs return to Graduate Business Career Services for assistance when returning to the job market. Contact us for assistance in sourcing your next experienced hire.
Campus visits, group meetings, and information sessions
A visit to campus to present to one of our active student organizations, or to host your own company informational presentation on campus, can greatly enhance your campus recruiting efforts.
Company site visits
Our Ivy graduate students and faculty enjoy touring company offices and facilities. Graduate Business Career Services staff can manage the logistics of a group visit to your facility.
