Joy EvansJoy Evans (’06 master of journalism and mass communication, MBA) is vice president of business and strategy for Brand Product + Innovation at Dotdash Meredith in Des Moines, Iowa. She joined Meredith in 2005 and has worked across several businesses including books, newsstand, and brand licensing. She specializes in relationship development, client management, market research, and business development. In her current role, Evans oversees domestic licensing programs for Better Homes and Gardens, Southern Living, BRIDES, Coastal Living, and REAL SIMPLE. She leads international licensing for People, Food & Wine, Better Homes & Gardens, InStyle, and LIFE in Japan, Australia, South Korea, Germany, Italy, and Mexico. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communication from Waldorf College in 2000. She is passionate about giving back to her community and is the co-chair of the media/communications segment for the annual United Way of Central Iowa Workplace Campaign to increase corporate engagement in the Des Moines area. When Evans isn’t working or volunteering, she and her husband, Chris, enjoy season tickets for the Broadway series at the Des Moines Performing Arts. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, and spending time with family.
