Bio
I am a Ph.D. candidate in Information Systems and Business Analytics at Iowa State University. I will be on the job market in the fall of 2025. The question my dissertation research aims to answer is how IT helps firms improve their innovative performance using various external knowledge acquisition strategies. I analyze insights derived from the patent applications, IT module implementations, and employee skills of firms to better understand the strategic fit between IT capabilities and external innovation approaches. My research contributes to the literature on IT and innovation and generates actionable insights for real-world decision makers in IT and innovation management. Beyond the dissertation, my other ongoing research examines the organizational capabilities that help firms produce AI innovations. Prior to my Ph.D., I worked as a patent agent in China for 10 years and obtained over 1,000 patents for leading global tech companies.
