Actuarial science
Actuarial Science Club/Gamma Iota Sigma is a student organization that is comprised of students wishing to become an actuary once they begin their careers after their education. This organization welcomes students both well on their way to becoming a member of a society or students who just want to learn more about the industry. They will have industry insiders, seasoned professors, and other students share their experiences and advice moving forward into their careers as well as advice for the actuarial exams. Accounting
Beta Alpha Psi – Iota Beta Chapter is a national honor society and scholastic/professional accounting fraternity. Its primary objective is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field. This includes promoting the study and practice of accounting, finance, and information systems, providing opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals, and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility. The Information Systems and Business Analytics Club (ISBA) brings together those students interested in sharing contemporary issues in information systems management. Entrepreneurship
The Entrepreneur Club (E-Club) encourages and informs students about participating in entrepreneurship, to foster friendships among students who share similar interests, to instill passion about building sustainable ventures, & to provide members with a learning & support platform to minimize risk and to maximize success. They also promote the integration of science, art, and technology into viable social creations.
Finance
The Finance Club is organized to provide both finance and non-finance major students interested in the field of finance, opportunities to learn more about finance and its related areas. This is accomplished through speaker presentations, field trips, meetings, and social interaction. The Investment Group provides an opportunity for students from all areas of the university to learn first-hand the investment process. Through the managing of a real portfolio, members will have an educational opportunity to explore the field of finance and investments. Members will have an opportunity to strengthen research, leadership, and public speaking skills through active participation in this student-run organization.
The Wall Street Club strives to drive continuous placement in investment banking and related fields by mentoring a select number of students using academic resources, professional work experience, and alumni networking.
Healthcare management
The Healthcare Management Club meets to discuss issues of interest related to healthcare management. The club wants to demonstrate the wide range of career opportunities in this industry. The club often has speakers, conducts case studies, and goes on industry tours that give our members first-hand experience within the field. These opportunities cannot be given in the classroom, we want to provide them for our members to gain experience and prepare them for the workforce whether they go clinical facing or non-clinical facing. The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is an undergraduate and graduate student club that seeks to learn more about human resource management and industrial relations. Master of Business Administration & Specialized Masters Association (MBASMA) is designed to allow graduate students in business the opportunity to network with professionals in various areas of business and explore related career paths. The MBASMA creates and pursues opportunities for students to develop the skills and behaviors required in business.
Honor societies
The mission of Beta Gamma Sigma is to encourage and honor academic achievements in the study of business and personal and professional excellence in the practice of business. Students from the top 10 percent of the junior class, the top 10 percent of the senior class, and the top 20 percent of master’s degree candidates are invited to the initiation ceremony held each spring. The $75 fee covers lifetime membership.
Sigma Nu Tau Entrepreneurship Honor Society is the only academic honor society dedicated to entrepreneurship. Their mission is to promote, recognize, honor and reward academic excellence in entrepreneurship and to encourage and recognize the practice of principled entrepreneurship.
Upsilon Phi Delta is the honor society for healthcare management. The mission of the Upsilon Phi Delta Honor Society is to recognize, reward, and encourage academic excellence in the study of healthcare management and policy. Undergraduate students with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher are eligible for induction by the program faculty, without any associated fees.
